AMEADYS : Dynamic Range Enhancer
On modern music media (Compact Disc and digital music), the sound is encoded on a digital format with a clearly defined maximum peak amplitude.
To increase loudness, extreme techniques of signal processing (as compression or equalization of the dynamic range) can be used. These treatments degrades the quality of the sound recording, as the dynamic range clipping (DR).
The AMEADYS technology offers the capability to increase the quality of the recording by reversing this compression.

This new approach of « decompressor » is based on a mathematical knowledge in the determination of the form of inverter of a dynamic system non-linear variation in time.
- AMEADYS uses, as input, an audio signal and the parameters of a compressor for generating a signal corresponding to the original recording.
- It can also be used to add dynamics to a broadcast signal, regardless of whether the signal is actually compressed in the first place.
- The decompression only needs a low computational effort and not delay the pure time-domain processing.
The decompressor does not require any sophisticated analysis of the transient, only the parameters of the compressor and the portion of the input signal to be treated are necessary.
